VOTER ALERT: Receive a Mail-In Ballot Without Requesting One? Check Your Status

HARRISBURG—Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro joined Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar in putting out guidance today for voters who say they received mail-in ballots that were not requested. Over a million Pennsylvanians who voted in the primary in June 2020 also opted-in to vote by mail in the general election this November. AG Shapiro Requests Court Strike Down Subpoenas for Private Voter Information

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Josh Shapiro filed a motion today asking the Commonwealth Court to order that a subpoena issued by State Senators Cris Dush and Jake Corman is illegal. The Senators’ subpoena demands access to personal information of nine million Pennsylvanians, which the Senators then plan to turn over to an unidentified third party.

Residents Impacted by Mariner East Pipeline Can Submit Request For Free Water Testing Until Friday, August 19

HARRISBURG, PA —Earlier this month, Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced that Sunoco Pipeline L.P., and ETC Northeast Pipeline LLC (ETC), both subsidiaries of Energy Transfer, L.P. (Energy Transfer), were convicted of criminal charges related to their conduct during the construction of two major pipelines in Pennsylvania. As part of the agreement, Energy Transfer will pay for independent evaluations of water quality impacts for homeowners potentially impacted by the construction of the Mariner East 2 Pipeline and in some cases, offer approved mechanisms for restoring or replacing the impacted private water supplies.

HARRISBURG — Today, Attorney General Josh Shapiro filed a legal objection to Purdue Pharma’s $38 million dollar bonuses for company executives. Attorney General Josh Shapiro Announces Legal Action Against UPMC for Violating Pennsylvania’s Charities Laws

PITTSBURGH — Attorney General Josh Shapiro today filed a petition in Commonwealth Court to modify the consent decrees governing the relationship between UPMC and Highmark, two of the largest health care providers and insurers in the western Pennsylvania market.
